2013 Tennessee Valley Fair

It’s here again ladies and gentlemen, the Tennessee Valley Fair! The theme of this year’s event is Fun On The Farm. The fair has been coming to Knoxville since 1916.
The fair provides an educational and entertaining experience for all those who attend. This event not only attracts people of all ages but also targets farmers and homemakers. It offers these individuals an opportunity to display their products and compete with fellow farmers and homemakers. This thrilling event not only incorporates agriculture but also includes a series of rides, activities, shows, and lots of fried treats! You’ll find a wide variety of stomach wrenching, head spinning, exciting carnival rides. For our younger friends, a petting zoo and face painting is always an option.
You don’t want to miss the annual firework show, tracker pull, and Miss East Tennessee’s fairest of the fair.
When asked, Junior Shelby Smartt said, “The most exciting thing for me is all the fried food!” Some deep fried oreos do make for a tasty snack!
You may have to try Smartt’s advice and pick up something tasty while you’re there! This popular attraction draws in anywhere from 140,00 guests from every county in East Tennessee. The Tennessee Valley Fair supports our community by raising thousands of dollars for local charities in the surrounding East Tennessee area every year. September 2019 will be the 100th anniversary of the Tennessee Valley Fair!
