Gunn's thirteen-year-old brother, Jordan Gunn, moved from Atlanta to Seattle to
live with him and his wife on May 1st, 2013. He expected a home
where he could sleep and not worry. Instead, he was shoved into a nightmare
over three months without the hope of escape.
Communication between the teenager and his
mother ceased a short time after he moved in with Gunn, which raised concerns. His
family contacted the police on several occasions in hopes of finding an answer
as to why they had not heard from their thirteen-year-old relative. With no
help from the police the silence from the young man stretched on.
The
thirteen year old was tortured and held captive in his brother’s cellar over a
three-month period. That was just the start of the young man's painful terrors
that would leave him scarred emotionally and physically. These times were
called "punishment sessions" and would last up to 2-3 weeks at a
time.
Two
weeks ago the victim escaped and was allegedly living on the streets barely
scraping by. Jordan was living in a bus shelter on a Navy housing complex when he
was found by two security officers. Upon seeing the injuries which littered his
face, stomach, arms, legs and back they escorted him to the nearest hospital. In
a recent CNN interview Gunn claims he only gave his younger brother a
"whooping" a few times. Brandon and Viviana Gunn are in Kitsap County
jail with a bail of $500,000 each and were arrested at seven in the morning on
Tuesday. They were charged with kidnapping, unlawful imprisonment and four
accounts of assault. The younger victim is now out of the hospital and has been
placed with a foster family.
