In
the past year South Doyle’s school spirit has risen from the previous standards
set by the lack of spirit in the student body. Credit for the restored life in
the students of South Doyle can be directed at, Tim Berry, the school’s
principal and the seniors of 2013. The
school’s student section grew from a small group to a raging team called “The
Tribe” in a few games last season.
“I’ve
been to a lot of different schools and I’ve never seen one with so much school
spirit.” Assistant principal William Baldwin stated about the school’s insane
amount of spirit. “Last Friday, the football team started out slow, but the
student section was roaring and I really think that helped our team get fired
up.”
Berry
most recently bought a “spirit” rock inspired by the Rock at the University Of
Tennessee. The Rock is six feet and seven tons sitting on the left side of the
football field on the hill. It is painted white and has SD painted across it in
red with #CHEROKEENATION in blue on another part. Supposedly Berry is on the
market for another larger rock to sit with the current one. We’ll let you know
what happens next…
