Syrian Chemical Weapons Attack

United States officials say there is “no doubt” that the Syrian regime used Chemical weapons on civilians last week. The comments came after an escalation in the deadly crisis, supposedly killing over 1,300 innocent women and children. Even as Washington moved four Naval Battleships into the Mediterranean Sea, within striking distance of Syria. A government official in an interview with CNN that based on the number of civilian casualties and their symptoms, “there is little doubt at this point that a chemical weapon was used by the Syrian regime against civilians in this incident.”
President Obama held crisis talks with several high ranking officials, who say that he will, “make an informed decision about how to respond to this indiscriminate chemical weapons attack.” President Obama has contacted the French president and the British Prime minister, who both wait on approval from their respective governments for any military maneuvers.
Officials claimed that militaristic conflict could avoided if there was a major turnaround by the Assad regime, or the Russian government supporting it. They also stated that that was very unlikely due to the long-standing dictatorship in the country.
The United Nations has conducted investigations, and despite being unidentified snipers firing upon, disabling their lead vehicle, they visited two hospitals and interviewed many witnesses and a few doctors while collecting patient samples. They urge President Obama to hold off attacks until their investigation is complete, but his reputation is on the line after being quoted at a press conference saying that chemical weapons were the “red line.” which would mean the U.S. would have to intervene.
