Students at South Doyle High School are blooming and representing the school with pride. With spring approaching, South Doyle is going to end the year with several new accomplishments to add under their belt.
On March 8th, JROTC cadets used their weekly running habits to help a greater cause at the 2014 Lucky Kidney Run. Greg Thaxton, Warren Carnes, Kristian King, Cameron McMahan, Mark Baker, Jacob Hale, and Christian Trivette all represented the school by placing highly in their age group.
Jenine Omari and Summer Sanders also left their mark at the State DECA Conference held in Nashville. Both girls placed in the top four of the Buying and Merchandising category. They will move on to represent TN DECA at the International DECA Conference in Atlanta. However, Omari and Sanders were not the only winners at the competition. Brielle Evans earned 1st place in the Role Play category.
Standout chorus students Mollie Byrd and Rachel Cormack performed in the American Choral Directors Association Southern Division High School Honors Choir at Jacksonville, Florida. The event is designed to gather the greatest voices in the southeast to come together and perform. Cormack also was rewarded with the honor of being a soloist in the choir’s final selection.
