Asking someone to dance at a school dance
is always a difficult task for a middle school student. Asking someone to dance
at a Valentine’s Day dance is even worse. There is a 50/50 chance of being
rejected or accepted and for nerdy guy Jeremy Melton it’s usually rejection.
Jeremy decides to ask the five popular girls in school if they would like to
join him for a dance and after being denied by four is accepted by the fourth
least popular. After being caught making out behind bleachers, Dorothy the
least popular of the group doesn’t want to be labeled anything but popular says
Jeremy attacked her. The boys who discovered them jump on him and beat him up
in front of the entire school, humiliating him.
Years
later, when the girls are in their 20’s and the incident is long forgotten;
Valentine’s day is approaching and the girls are sorting our their lives. One
of the girls is a premed student and studying for a final on a cadaver when a
killer in a cherub mask murders her. Minutes before her murder she receives a
sinister Valentine’s day card but brushes it off. Her friends attend the
funeral and shortly afterward begin receiving the creepy cards and being
violently murdered.
The
cards are signed with the initials J.M and the girls goes over lists of guys
they know with the intials and remember Jeremy Melton from school. Once they
bring the name up to the police they begin to point fingers at each others
boyfriends turning them against each other. The girls must unmask the killer
and survive.
