As the warm air rolls in and we all get a
little spring fever, we think about anything and everything to do outside with
friends. Some examples of “fun in the
sun” activities are below:
Ø
Bad
Mitten/ Volleyball- This is a
classic spring and summer game. All you need is to buy a net and get a ball or
birdie and rackets depending on if you want to play bad mitten or volleyball.
(Places like Wal-Mart sell sets of the net, rackets, birdies, and volleyballs
that are affordable.) This can become a very entertaining game, especially with
a group of friends or family.
Ø
Bonfires-
I personally love having bonfires. They are fun and not that hard to plan. If
you do have a bonfire you could play soccer, touch football, rugby, hide- and-
go- seek, Frisbee, capture the flag, and much more. Also, you could plan your
bonfire on a night where there will be a meteor shower. You could spread out
blankets or lie on the warm green grass and watch the sky rain meteors.
Ø
Water
Fights- Water fights are
so much fun on a hot summer day. You could fill water balloons and get water
guns and have a water war, or you could lie out a tarp or water slide and get
it wet and slide down. If you were spending a day at the lake you could prop a
float on the side of a boat, splash water on it, and slide down into the lake,
too.
Ø
Sidewalk
Chalk- I know it
sounds very elementary, but you can make it a competition with some friends.
You could challenge each other to draw a 3-D picture or trace each other and
make yourself portrait or your favorite character out of a book or movie. There
is so much to do with chalk that we should use that to our advantage. Who cares how old you are you can still have
“fun in the sun” with your friends.
