DIY Spring Nails

Spring is a great time to paint your nails. It is the perfect time to use bright and bold colors, and to experiment and try new designs. Designs can be tricky, but nail art pens can make them easier. These can be ordered, or you can find some at most stores like Walgreens and the Dollar Tree. Traditional solid nails are simple and easy to do, but if you are looking for something for spring, here are some ideas.
Flowers:
1.    Start with a solid base color.
2.    Pick two colors that will show up on top of the base color.
·      If you picked a dark base color, lighter colors are probably going to work better. If you picked a light base color, dark will be a better choice.
3.    Make one dot in the center of your nail with one of the colors you picked.
4.    Make a circle of dots around the center one to create the flower.
5.    Make sure to let the dots dry well to avoid smearing, and then paint over your whole nail with a top coat.
Half and Half
*For this design, you will need tape and a nail pen or toothpick and three different colors of polish.
1. Tape off half of your nail to create a straight line across the center.
2. Paint the bottom half of your nail one color, and use the tape as the barrier.
3. Let the bottom dry, and then remove the tape.
4. Paint the top half of your nail with another color, being sure not to get polish on the bottom half.
5. Let both halves dry really well, and make sure they aren’t tacky at all before you continue.
6. Using a nail art pen or toothpick, draw a straight line across your nail right where the two colors meet.
*Make sure the center line matches both colors. The best colors for this are neutral ones like gold, silver or black.

7. Let everything fry, and then cover with top coat.
