South Doyle High School’s annual talent show was jam packed
with applause. From drumming to singing, it had it all. Working through their
stage freight, the contestants put everything they had into their acts. The
winner of the
freshmen/sophomore talent show was ninth grader Noah Montgomery.
After some minor technical difficulties, he displayed his dancing skills to the
tune of Weird Al.
The
junior/senior portion of the South Doyle High School featured a variety of
performances from singing to dancing to instrumental performances. Although
some technical difficulties were experienced overall the show had its moments
of awe and intrigue. “Were people really that shocked by singing voice?” asked
Senior Ryan Galloway. Galloway performed twice throughout the talent show;
those performances consisted of a piano solo, and a song with Derek Allen,
Joshua Simpson, and Caleb Simpson. Even though they did not win, Galloway and
his cohorts had a solid performance. The winners of the talent show included
Austin Grindstaff and Lyndsey Raby, who came in 3rd place for their
singing. Shane Grace and Kyle Brooks came in 2nd place for their crowd-pleasing
duet routine. 1st place was awarded to Brandon Woodfin, Deira
Booker, and others for their dance routine.
