Just
like the release of any other new iPhone, the world was excited and ready to
buy. The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus broke records selling over 10 million iPhones
in the first weekend. Coming out just after iOS 8 boosted sales greatly as Apple
claimed that the new iPhone brings their new software to life.
There are many new features to the iPhone
6, but one of the most notable is the weight. Weighing 129 grams, the new iPhone
is incredibly light in comparison to other new smartphones on the market. In
addition, it is thinner than the iPhone 5s at 6.9 millimeters thin. However,
with the thinness comes sacrifices like a small battery and a protruding camera
lens. Although it may not seem like a big deal, a camera lens not level with
the back of the phone means the phone cannot lay flat and the lens is the first
thing to get scratched when being sat down.
The new phone is now all metal and
curved around the edges. This means it is a lot more slippery than its
predecessor and makes it easier to drop or slip, which was shown with the
unboxing of the first iPhone 6.
On the front of the iPhone is the
new 4.7 inch screen, and Apple’s new 1334 x 750 display also knows as Retina
HD; this is the same as the previous iPhone, the 5s. With all the new features,
the new product can be talked up. As one of Apple’s biggest releases in a while,
it is an almost guaranteed great buy, but things like battery life or camera
quality one can only try out and decide for themselves.
