Friday Night Lights Begin

Friday night’s game at Heritage had everyone excited for this year’s season. The crowd cheering, lights beaming and the speaker blaring the announcer’s voice brought the football season to a great start. The South-Doyle victory made the night even better.

South-Doyle kept a lead throughout the entire game.  The score at half time was 28 – 7. There were some great blocks made by junior Keegan Nichols, senior Mason McNutt, senior Tanner Webb and junior Jimmy Fowler that led to a Cherokee touchdown in the first quarter. Cherokee dominance could be found in the first quarter when the defense stopped the Mountaineers on the one-yard line.

South-Doyle continued to dominate throughout the entire game, leading to a 55 – 14 final score. South-Doyle is ranked in the top 10 of their division because of their win at Heritage.
