Friday night’s game at Heritage had
everyone excited for this year’s season. The crowd cheering, lights beaming and
the speaker blaring the announcer’s voice brought the football season to a
great start. The South-Doyle victory made the night even better.
South-Doyle kept a lead throughout the
entire game. The score at half time was
28 – 7. There were some great blocks made by junior Keegan Nichols, senior Mason
McNutt, senior Tanner Webb and junior Jimmy Fowler that led to a Cherokee
touchdown in the first quarter. Cherokee dominance could be found in the first
quarter when the defense stopped the Mountaineers on the one-yard line.
