1. Confidence- You have to show the interviewer
that you are confident in yourself, but you do not want to be to confident to
where you come across as arrogant. Also, you want to show the interviewer that
you can handle yourself around new people. Lexie Shaw states that, “You have to
go into it like you have a shot, and can do your best.” Always remember to walk
in there with your head held high and your shoulders back. Most importantly, be
yourself.
2. Appearance-
You want to dress the part. You do not want to be too dressy or too casual. Also,
you do not want to have too much make-up on. You can look classy, confident,
and professional. Another tip is to consider the job interview you are going in
for: how do they dress when they work, how do you think they dressed for their
interviews, etc. “You have to look professional, not like a slob. You have to
look like you can handle the job you are going in for,” Gentry Huddleston said.
3. Professionalism-
Knowing how to conduct yourself is a skill that you need to learn. If you get
the job, and are goofing off and not working, you will probably be fired. You
want to show the interviewer that you are professional and you are there to
work not play around. Also, “Make sure to be respectful and always say yes sir
or ma’am,” said Charlie Holman. Do this if you have to work in customer service.
When in an interview you need to know when and how to reveal personal
information.
