Pilates for Days
Pilates is a fitness workout that
helps your body stay at its highest peak both physically and mentally. The work
out is a system of
exercises that uses special apparatus, designed to improve physical strength,
flexibility, and posture, and enhance mental awareness. The founder and
inventor of Pilates, Joseph Pilates, once said, “You are only as old as your
spine.” A woman named Julie
Erickson, a workout instructor made the comment, “In order to keep this
mobility, we must be able to move with control in all of the directions the
spine is meant to move: flexible, extension, lateral flexion, and rotation,”
she says. “Learning to do this safely and with the support of the muscles of
the core is what Pilates is all about.” Doing Pilates is a huge help to keeping
your body in shape and staying fit. Being fit makes you feel so much better and
healthier in everyday life.
Many reasons why people do Pilates include the following: your body
will get stronger, you’ll burn calories, your body looks SO MUCH better, it helps
you tighten and strengthen your core and tummy and it corrects your posture to
straighten it. Daphne B. from Oakland, CA is a woman who has been taking Pilate
classes to become relaxed and fit. She writes on a review, “I never realized how tense I
was getting from work and sitting at a desk all day on a computer. If you have
a bad back I highly recommend taking Pilates, my back feels amazing after every
time I leave, each vertebrae is now separate and I can finally move! You will
be amazed after taking just one class - try to touch your toes at the beginning
of class vs. the end and notice the improvement. After a few weeks of class you
will notice how much better your posture is…” She is reliable source that can
tell you first hand how Pilates have affected and improved her body. Pilates
are meant to help people and give them a better life for themselves and their
bodies. Never underestimate the positive affect from working out.
