With
the new school year just a summer away, this year’s juniors have voted on the
new student government. Instead of the upcoming senior class having one class president,
they have two: Layla Mosadegh and Carrie Rule. The Vice President is Abbey
Massie and the class representatives are Gabby Merrow, Caitlin Allgood, Sam
Gover, and Courtney Payne. Taylor Shelton is the new spirit coordinator.
Both
Mosadegh and Rule used creative ways to attract the attention of the junior
class. Rule gave out homemade buttons she created with puzzle pieces and a
sharpie that said, “Carrie is the missing piece to your puzzle”. Mosadegh set
up posters all over school with catchy phrases such as, “Drinks on me” featured
over the water fountains. Mosadegh even had a cutout of herself set up in the
front office.
When
asked about tying in the race with Rule, Mosadegh said the following, “We get
along very well and we have similar ideas we would like to implement next year.
We want to find out ways to better communicate with our principals and finding
ways to improve student experiences at the school.”
Rule
agreed with what Layla stated about their co-presidency. She mentioned that she
was looking forward to tying with Mosadegh from the beginning because their
personalities and ideas would mesh so well together. Needless to say, both are
thrilled to be working with each other the following school year.
