What Eyeshadows Work On Your Eyes

Eyeshadow can make your eyes look beautiful and dramatic, but if you use the wrong color, it can make you look sick.

Blue Eyes- When it comes to blue eyes, it is important not to overpower the blue, but make it pop. Because blue is a cool tone, it is important to go with warm and neutral tones. Browns, golds, taupes, peaches, and some warm purples can definitely make your eyes pop. Using cool tones on your eyes is a common mistake due to the fact that people think “Blue eyes, blue eyeshadows.” Avoid cool tones, as they can cancel out your eye color. Black eyeliner and mascara will make your eyes stand out.

Green Eyes- If you have green eyes, stick with neutrals and purples. Warm colors like plum, brown, bronze, and copper will look good on you. Lavenders, dark-toned pinks, warm greens, and peaches will also work. Avoid any metallic colors, such as silver, blues, whites, and extremely light colors. Brown eyeliner will look great on green eyes, as black liner will be too harsh. Also, try to go for a brownish-black mascara.

Brown Eyes- Brown eyes are by far the easiest colors to work with, as they are a mix of all colors. You can work with most colors.  Neutrals will look great on you , as well as, warm and cool toned purples. A little light blue under the lashline will make your eyes pop. Warm and cool greens will also look great on you. Metallic colors such as silver and rusty golds will make your eyes brighter. Go with any liner of your choice. All mascaras will work with you.

New Technologies

Technology has come a long way from the iron and stone of a couple hundred years or so ago. People who were hurt or came into contact with a disease had to rely on God and sheer luck to get them through. Thankfully, as technology advanced, so did humankind’s understanding of the things around them. Recently a new field of study called Nano-robotics has opened up, focusing on a type of microscopic machine known as a nanobot. A nanobot is a microscopic machine that allows for precision actions with objects on a macroscopic level, or can manipulate environments with Nano scale. Although manmade nanobots do not currently exist they are under intense study from the various fields, which hope to benefit from their creation.
The use of nanobots in medicine is of almost limitless potential. Nanobots designed to seek out cancer cells will possibly be a solution to the deadly disease. These microscopic wonders could possibly help the body with repairing damaged tissue. If people who sustained an injury that would normally be fatal could be repaired on the scene by nanobots waiting for such an opportunity, hundreds upon thousands of lives could be saved. Soldiers wounded in the field would have a lower chance of dying.
While having the possibility to save lives there is a dark underside that holds the possibility to end life as we know it. The Grey Goo Theory is the idea that rogue nanobots would self replicate while consuming everything in their path. A nanobot holocaust is unlikely because the immobile nanobots would run out of useable materials long before they could eat the world away. In another world changing situation a horde of nanobots could be told to target vital organs and release a slew toxins to incapacitate or kill potential targets. On a less deadly note, breathing in
Nano-materials used in carbon fibers can lead to serious pulmonary disease issues.
The achievements of mankind have led us to the point where we can land a man on the moon, explore some of the deepest ocean trenches known to man, and talk to someone on the other side of the world. With all of these advances, soon Nano-robotics will revolutionize the world for better or worse.

Before the Grammys

With the 56th annual Grammy Awards premiering Sunday, the questions being asked among the fans is if their favorite artist will walk away with one of the prestigious prizes.
All the competition is tough this year especially in the Album of the Year category. The Blessed Unrest (Sara Bareilles), Random Acess Memories (Daft Punk), good kid, m.A.A.d. city (Kendrick Lamar), The Heist (Macklemore & Ryan Lewis), and Red (Taylor Swift) are the artists nominated in that category. It’s hard to say who had the bigger year among those artists.
Daft Punk dominated the summer with singles such as “Get Lucky” and “Lose Yourself to Dance,” Macklemore & Ryan Lewis showed that you do not have to be signed to a major label to be successful in the music industry, and Kendrick Lamar had a huge 2013 without having to release an album.
The competition for Record of the Year includes Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” featuring Pharrell, Imagine Dragons’ “Radioactive,” Lorde’s “Royals,” Bruno Mars’ “Locked Out Of Heaven,” and Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” with T.I. and Pharrell.
Daft Punk had a part in the great music that came out during the summer of 2013, but Robin Thicke and his number one song “Blurred Lines” was playing on all radio stations in summer 2013. This was Thicke’s first to top the charts and it was number one for twelve weeks before being dethroned by Katy Perry and her song “Roar.” Imagine Dragons blew up over the summer with their nominated song “Radioactive” and “Demons” while Bruno Mars’ continued to solidify himself as a great artist with songs like the nominated “Locked Out of Heaven” and “Treasure.” The 17-year old New Zealand sensation, Lorde, burst onto the scene with her hit song “Royals” and was able to dethrone Katy Perry’s “Roar” from the number one spot. For a 17-year old artist to reach number one with her first single is impressive within itself.
The category that I’m most eager to see the winner of is Best Rap Album. The Grammys has been notorious for snubbing that category out of the actual show, but with artists the caliber of Drake, Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, and Kanye West nominated in the category; needless to say hip-hop fans would be disappointed. The albums of all the artists nominated have all went platinum and are fan favorites among the masses. In personal opinion, there is not a clear-cut winner in that category this year unlike previous years. Drake’s Nothing Was the Same added to the already great resume he has put together since he arrived in the world of music. Drake even took home the Grammy for this category last year for his album Take Care. In 2013, Jay-Z released Magna Carta… Holy Grail; his first solo album since 2009’s The Blueprint III. The album featured one the biggest hits of the summer with the Justin Timberlake-assisted “Holy Grail” along with other great hits such as “Tom Ford” and “Part II (On the Run)” which features his wife, Beyonce. Jay-Z’s outspoken Watch the Throne brethren, Kanye West, not only released the great, unique album Yeezus, but also kept the media talking with his infamous rants and actions. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis took independent success to a whole new level with the release of their album The Heist. The Heist featured songs such as “Thrift Shop” featuring Wanz, “Same Love” featuring Mary Lambert, “Can’t Hold Us” featuring Ray Dalton, and “White Walls” featuring TDE’s ScHoolboy Q. The independent duo without a doubt changed the game with the success of their highly beloved album. Kendrick Lamar has been considered one of the top rappers since he the release of the classic good kid, m.A.A.d. city. Lamar did not release an album in 2013 because of the artists he worked with on features including A$AP Rocky (“Problems,” “1 Train”), Robin Thicke (“Give It 2 U (Remix)”), his labelmate ScHoolboy Q (“Collard Greens”), and not to mention his fierce, name-dropping verse on Big Sean’s “Control.”

Ask Lucy and Lauren

Dear Lucy,

I’m a very emotional person and I tend to have trouble controlling my emotions when I’m speaking to people. How can I keep from absolutely losing it when I’m facing someone?

                                                ~Emotional Emma

Dear Emma,

I know it can be hard sometimes controlling your emotions, I’ve been in your position. You feel an enormous amount of pressure to keep yourself together but that doesn’t mask the awful thoughts that are running through your head. When you’re in this situation just take a deep breath, excuse yourself, and walk away. There is nothing wrong with putting a hold on the conversation to regain your composure. If you feel like the issue absolutely needs to be addressed then maybe you can find a mature way to discuss the problem that won’t lead to you crying in their face.

                                                Stay strong and smile!

                                                                        ~Lucy

Dear Lucy,

My boyfriend can’t go to prom but I was really looking forward to going with him. I still want to go, but not alone. What should I do?

                                                ~Sad Sally

Dear Sally,

That really sucks that your boyfriend can’t go with you but you can always go with friends! I know you were probably really excited to go with him but you can always get dressed up and go eat another time. Sure, it won’t be the same but it could still be fun! Find a good group of friends and tag along with them, that could be just as much fun!

I hope you still have a fun time!

                                                                        ~Lucy
