Highlighting and Contouring
Not
happy with the way your face looks? Good news! You can change it! Highlighting
and contouring are great ways to change the shape of your face, make your
cheekbones more prominent, and make your facial structure stand out.
Contouring with bronzer is a great
way to add definition to your face. However, be careful, because too much can
make it look like you have a beard. You can contour your cheekbones, your nose,
your jawline, and along the sides of your forehead. Different faces with
different structures can use various ways to change their appearance. You can
also contour with cream. Get a foundation or concealer that is five to six
shades darker than your skin. Start by making an “E” on the side of your face,
covering your cheekbones starting from the hairline, your jawline, and the
sides of the forehead. If you want to contour your nose, trace along the sides
leading up to your eyebrow, and trace along the bottom of your nose. Carefully
blend out to give your face more definition.
Highlighting is also a good way to
give your face definition. Once again, be careful, or too much highlight can
make you look oily or very white. A good method for highlighting is to put your
choice of product under the eye, along the bridge of your nose, along your
Cupid’s bow, your chin, the tops of your cheekbones, and slightly on the
forehead. There are many different highlighters for different skin tones.
Though yellow toned highlighters, are generally preferred, pink toned
highlighters are also great on pale skin. It’s great to use different toned
highlighters for different areas of the face. If you have yellow toned skin,
use a pink toned highlighter under the eyes, and yellow for the rest. If you
have pink toned skin, vice versa.
Last, finish off with a blush that
suits the look you are going for to elongate the face and give you a healthy
glow. One of the best places to put blush is along your contour to help blend
it out and add even more dimension. If
you are using a shimmery bronzer and a shimmery highlighter, try to avoid a
shimmery blush. Matte blushes with coral tones generally suit all skin tones.
There are also cream blushes, and liquid blushes. Avoid putting to much on, or
you may end up looking like a clown.
