Football time is over, but the South Doyle Cherokees are still going strong and staying fit. Their coaches Jonathan Snyder, Jay Winery, Bobby Graham and John Rollins still having them working hard so when season comes around next year they are ready to go. The starting Middle Linebacker, Harley Wheeler, talked about his hardest workouts they have to do to keep strong muscles. He mentioned that the workout “Leg Days” are the #1 hardest workouts they have to do. Another one the team dreads doing is core workouts.  All the coaches like to push and motivate the players so when game time comes they are ready to pound the other team and finish the game with a victory.
The Quarterback for the Kees, Brody Rollins, comments that the “Foot work drills the Quarterbacks have to do help us be swift on our feet and get us ready to look for a teammate open to score a touchdown.” Without having these drills the team would not be as great and competitive as they are now, and not have the endurance to last the whole game. In the season 2012-2013 the boys went 8-4 and played all the way to the first round play-offs. In the season 2013-2014 the boys made it to the second round play-offs with a record of 7-5. Each year they condition harder and stronger just to make their team the best they can be.
Without staying fit and always working out, the Cherokees could not be where they were this season. Best of luck to the South Doyle Football team in their next season and cant wait to see what is in store for the team this season! At the rate they are going now, it should be a positive season for the team.
